You’re getting sleepy… very sleepy….
That’s pretty much how I feel right now. ;) It was an early morning… I started work at 5:30 this morning! boooo… lol and now I’m tired
Actually it’s been a blah week all week, I’ve felt a little under the weather. Hopefully next week will be fantastic!
Tonight will be a great start, our staff Christmas Party!!!!! yay!!!!!
Even though it’s not Thanksgiving here in Canada, I’m still thankful for my husband, everyday…
Two Muffins are in the oven
One says to the other, “My god it is hot in here!”
The other replies, “Ah!… it’s a talking muffin!!!”
Cookies!!!!!!
Christmas cookies!!!! YAY!!!!! Going to make some yummy cookies this afternoon. It feels so early to be doing that, but I suppose with the lack of snow around here it really feels early. (okay – I admit it is too early). But my mom is in town so my sisters and are going to decorate cookies with her and my niece and nephew. This afternoon works well for all of us, so why not make them today? We can then throw them in the freezer for a couple weeks. Mmmm –mmm-mmmm.. I love cookies.
Thelonious Monk and his Town Hall band in rehearsal, February 1959, by W. Eugene Smith, from The Jazz Loft Project, by Sam Stephenson.
But 821 Sixth Avenue was a peculiar place to work. Late at night, the dilapidated building blossomed into a thriving epicenter of the jazz music scene, with underground legends and mainstream greats alike — from Zoot Sims to Bill Evans to the Thelonious Monk — roaming the decaying halls. At the heart of this chaos and glory, Smith’s ambitions for the Pittsburgh project dissolved into his fascination with the loft’s secret life and he redirected his artistic focus towards this newfound inspiration.

My sister started moving into a new apartment yesterday… yay!!!! Why am I so excited? Well she just returned from B.C. and while she was living in Victoria I kept a portion of her furniture here. Now I am able to get rid of a big ol’ monster of a TV (replaced by my new one.), a television stand, two other stands, and a futon. My apartment will have so much more space. I cannot wait! Finally we will be able to set up our brand new bed frame and our bedroom will have matching furniture.. it’s purty stuff! ( a tad big, but really nice)
The moving went quite well and fast, we unloaded one load of furniture right away and were able to head to my apartment and grab the furniture I had there. Unfortunately during the first load I got smacked in the back of the head by a table. My dad was carrying it and I guess he must’ve lost track of where the one end was because the next thing I know I’ve got immense pain at the back of my head. Guess that’s what I get for holding the door for him. ;)
